Traveling to Dallas is always one of our favorite things to do and especially during the holiday season! I feel like Dallas has so many fun activities and events for kids so we always try to make a trip down there! We went a few years ago during this time and had the best time so we knew we wanted to come back! This year my mom decided she wanted to take the entire family on a 5 day trip to Dallas as her big gift to the kids (the 5 grandchildren) this year for Christmas! We had the absolute best time and created memories to last a life time! So much better than any toy she could buy! I encourage all of you to look for experiences over things, it’s much more magical!
We surprised the kids and told them that we were sending Gram Gram off on a trip so we all pretended to go outside and tell her bye and then all of the sudden my mom said “how about we all just go?’ que the sheer mania…the squeals, screams, jumping and hugging were almost more than this pregnant mama’s heart could take. They were all so excited so we loaded up right then and there and set off for our 5 hour drive!
We arrived in Dallas and checked in to our first hotel. The Embassy Suites Dallas. We always love staying there because #happyhour even though I couldn’t enjoy the free drinks you better believe I indulged in chips and salsa! They also have the best free breakfast and with 10 people traveling, you know we get down on some free breakfast! 😉 We stayed in their huge penthouse family suite and it was the perfect set up for us! It had 2 bed rooms, 2 full bathrooms, a sitting area with a pull out couch and then a dining/kitchen area! There was so much room and the kids felt like they were in heaven! There were more games of tag played in that room than I can count! We spent those 2 days in Dallas just taking it easy, swimming, playing games like 바카라 사이트, shopping, eating out at Dave and Buster’s and just enjoying time as a family! It was perfect!
After our 2 day stay there we transferred everyone over to the Gaylord Texan to begin our adventure! We checked in to our conjoining atrium view rooms and the kids immediately started asking us what we were going to do next. If you have never been to the Gaylord, you seriously are missing out! It is one of the neatest resort style hotels we have been to. During the holiday season they have the most gorgeous decorations, lights and so many holiday themed activities for your family to do! If you’re planning to go fishing, check out these best baitcasting reel under 50. When you’re finding for perfect tips and tricks to improve your fishing skills the smart way, then this Skate The Fly here is the best source you should look for!
The activities that they offer are geared toward family fun and you will want to do them all! The ones they offer include:
Cookies with Mrs. Clause
Gingerbread Decorating
The Christmas Escape Room
Breakfast with the Elves (Saturday & Sunday Only)
ICE– Themed Ice Sculpture display with over 2 million lbs of ice
Snow Tubing
Snow Ball Throw
Scavenger Hunt
Build-A-Bear Workshop
and….SANTA!
They also have 4 restaurants on site and little coffee shops that just make it the one stop hotel to stay and play for an entire weekend without having to leave! When you have 5 kids 7 and under getting everyone loaded up and in the car and driving through Dallas to go eat, or do fun things is just not ideal so when we can stay somewhere and do all of the things while there we are all in! We absolutely had the best time at the Gaylord and will definitely be going back! The kids can’t stop talking about all the fun things we did, the lights, the trees, and most importantly how much fun they had with their family!
My sister and her family had to leave on Tuesday but we stayed one more night because we were given tickets to go check out the US debut of Enchant Christmas! Enchant is the world’s largest light maze and market! You will be dazzled by millions of lights, walk through snow, enjoy delicious food from local food trucks, sip hot cocoa and make memories to last a life time! The maze was our favorite part. It was absolutely breathtaking and we had the best time searching for Santa’s 9 reindeer hidden throughout the maze and they even give you a search and scratch card that helps you keep track of which reindeer you’ve found! It was so fun to watch our kid’s faces light up when they saw all the different displays!
To say we had the most memorable time in Dallas would be an understatment! The memories created during these 5 days will last us a lifetime. I encourage all of you to collect moments not things, especially when it comes to your children! They will far remember a trip with their family over a toy! I couldn’t be more thankful for my mom who made this trip happen and treated us so many times while in Dallas!!
