Microblading is everything right now! It is one of the “it” things to do in the semi permanent makeup world and everyone is loving it! I am actually pretty late to the game but I was skeptical at first to be honest! Really I just wanted to watch as many people as I could and hear as many stories before I decided to jump on board! Research was my best friend during this process. I searched for a long time the do’s/dont’s and tips/tricks to make the most educated decision for myself!I titled this post in hopes to get all of you that have heard this called a “tattoo” and give you a little insight to the actual process & how it differs! As we all know, all of the beauty services provided today aren’t for everyone. You have to do your research, know your wants and make a decision for yourself, no one else! Considered one of the best Permanent make-up clinics to get your brows done with Microblading Scottsdale!
So first of all what is microblading? Unlike getting your eyebrows full tattooed on in a solid color, an experienced tattoo artist says, this process actually allows the artist to blade in feather like hair strokes on your eyebrows to make them exactly how you want them! You can see TNBB to learn about it in detail. It breaks the top layers of the skin with a tiny blade and then a pigment color is put on top allowing the ink to soak in to your skin which in the turns in to a feathered 3D type brow once healed! The tiny strokes used make the brows look so natural & the goal is for them to look dimensional without the harsh look of a solid-no hair stroke method! It is best to see this and get expert advice for skin treatments and skin care.
I actually found The Browtique, Fort Worth on Instagram and have followed them for quite awhile now! I have seen hundreds of images on their instagram and never saw any of them I didn’t love. The owner of The Browtique, Carrie Hunt was the first microblader in Texas so I knew once I found that out this was the place for me! They currently have 3 girls who have all been highly trained and offer the most professional services in the most relaxing and comfortable atmosphere!
Once I found out we would be making a trip to Dallas this summer I booked my appointment with Lindley Woody and to say I’m obsessed would be an understatement! I instantly felt like we had been friends forever and we chatted the entire time which made me less nervous because honestly I was! lol She was so helpful with any questions I had, took her time measuring and giving me exactly what I wanted, and educating me on the entire process as well as what to expect after along with after care!
The entire staff at the salon were so welcoming and it was just the cutest, most charming little salon! I feel like it is so important to feel comfortable when getting something semi-permanent especially on your face! HA!
I honestly had no clue all the aspects that go into this process! She measured and marked all over my brows to show me exactly what I would be seeing when it was all said and done! It was very meticulous, she measured and measured and measured some more to make sure my brows were uniform and exactly where they were supposed to be! I have almost black eyebrows so I wanted to go for a full, dramatic brow because we felt my face could handle it since my natural eyebrows are already so dark and I am so glad we did!
I am in love with the final product and the process didn’t hurt near as bad as I thought it would! To be honest the sound is what got me…it’s like a noise you cant describe! However they have headphones for you to use if you cant take the noise! I was enjoying my chat with Lindley so I decided to power through! ha! I do think I will use the next time just because it got to me towards the end!
I went through many different reasonings as to why I wanted to get this done and narrowed it down to my top 3 reasons!
1. I love the idea of having full brows with no work!
2. It gives my face an added dimension without makeup!
3. Allows me to get ready faster & eliminates the brow mistakes!
I had several of you send in questions regarding this process so here is a quick q&a!
Did it hurt?
I wouldn’t use the word hurt at all! It was more of an annoyance. They use numbing cream that really takes the edge off! I have pretty good pain tolerance but I would do this over any day of the week! I had it worked up so much worse in my mind!
How long did it take?
My appointment was scheduled at 12 and I was done around 2! This of course isn’t all the microblading itself but measuring, marking, looking, etc!
How much does it cost?
Each artist at The Browtique charges their own rate based on different factors of experience. You can check the prices & artists here!
What was the healing process like?
So after the process is done, you will have a little bit of red irritation! The ink will be darker in the coming days so don’t be alarmed! The Browtique does a “dry heal” which means you don’t do anything to them after the first day! The first day you will wipe them down with a cotton wipe covered in distilled water! They suggest the “dry heal” because things such a vaseline, antibiotic ointment, etc can change the PH of your skin & ink which can cause fading and discoloration! You are not allowed to get them submerged/wet for 10 days or put makeup on them/fill them in! (PS. you can totally wear makeup/shower just not directly on the brows) You could possibly have some scabbing/peeling but it is usually minimal, however this does vary from person to person!
How long do they last?
You have to get a touch up (2nd pass) around 6 weeks after your initial appointment to get the final desired look! Some of the initial ink will have faded and they will need to be filled in for some of the strokes that didn’t take the first pass. After the 2nd pass is done your eyebrows will last approximately 1-3 years depending on the person & where you had them done!
Do you have any other questions about microblading? I’d love to answer them or send them on to Lindley to answer! Please check out The Browtique on Facebook and on all of their Instagram pages! They offer additional services such as permanent eyeliner, lip blushing, etc! You can check them all out here!
This post was done in collaboration with The Browtique! Thank you for supporting brands & businesses I love! All content provided on Everyday With Bay is that of my own thoughts & opinions!
They look awesome! I just had mine done about 3 weeks ago. I’m almost done with the scabbing phase. I’m ready for my follow up- It’s so worth the weird healing stage though.. I also have lash extensions, so cutting those two things out of my routine at 5am has been fantabulous! You had great brows before too. I’m blonde .. mine are almost non-existent … so this is a game changer. thanks for sharing!
I have been debating on doing this to my brows and your article has been helpful making up my mind I will get it done. Your brows look so great and yes that would take time off getting ready in the morning.
