Great Wolf Lodge, if you have kids then I can pretty much guarantee you have heard of this magical place! It’s on every kids “mom we’ve gotta go there” list! We got to spend the weekend there 2 weeks ago and let me just tell you, you have got to go check it out! Like pull up another browser tab and book your stay gotta go! It is the perfect stay & play weekend getaway tucked away in Grapevine, Texas and it packs a big punch for a family vacation! I’m going to share with you several things we did, things we loved and what I would totally recommend doing if you find yourself planning a stay!
The property itself is just one of a kind. They really pay attention to detail and always have something captivating from trees inside the lobby, interactive pictures on the walls, animal tracks on the carpet I mean it’s a kids dream. They have different style rooms to pick from in different price ranges but have no fear, all of the rooms are very spacious, clean and fit even a large family like ours wonderfully! The beds are suuuuuper comfortable which is always a bonus for me because we all know how tired you get playing with kids all day! The Great Wolf in Grapevine is actually undergoing a huge renovation but to be honest had we not been told I would have never known. They are giving all of the rooms a nice facelift and let me tell you, they all look so great!
I promise you one thing. Your kids will never be bored at Great Wolf Lodge. They constantly have something going on or something to go do. It really is a parent’s dream to have activites planned and provided so all you have to do is show up and you are part of the fun. They have an event calendar you can check out each day to see exactly what all they have going on. Each holiday they have corresponding events to make the holidays even more fun. When we were there we got to do a preview of all the Halloween activities they have planned and we had a blast! They have a costume parade, trick or treat trail, boo bingo and lots of other great festive things to do!
THINGS TO DO
The food and drinks at Great Wolf Lodge do not disappoint. They pride themselves on offering a full array of cuisine fit to please everyone in the family! They are also very allergy friendly which is such a breath of fresh air from a mama of 4 who had to be dairy/soy free for all of her babies for a little bit! There is also a full Starbucks on the property which I definitely hit up every day we were there because #tiredmom! We were able to eat at every restaurant while we were there and all of the food was SO good! Their head chef and entire culinary team is highly skilled and it shows!
One thing I would highly recommend purchasing is the Paw Pass for your kiddos! It is essentially a package deal for several of the add on activities you can do at the resort for a fraction of the cost. It includes one game of MagiQuest or ShadowQuest, a choice of classic or colored wand, standard topper or Magi belt , a Creation Station animal (outfit not included) one Clubhouse Crew Adventure, a Paw Points arcade card (20 points) a 12 oz. candy cup, a pair of Great Wolf Lodge goggles from Bear Essentials Swim Shop, a Glitz Glitter Tattoo, and one Leather Treaty name bracelet from Buckhorn Exchange Gift Shop! Totally worth it if you kids want to do even 1-2 of those things while you are there!
Of course the main attraction at Great Wolf Lodge is the huge indoor waterpark. This is what makes this property stand out amongst all the other waterparks. Fall in Texas is so unpredictable, you could have great warm weather or you could have rain that won’t quit which can sure put a damper on any outdoor fun so this is a sure way to make sure the kids get to enjoy all the water activities that their little hearts desire. Great Wolf Lodge has many different areas inside this giant waterpark, from small slides and shallow areas for the littles to thrilling whirling water slides for the adventure seekers! It’s the perfect mix for families with kids of all ages. They also have an outdoor area for water fun as well. One of my kids favorite parts was watching the giant bucket fill with water and then tip over on everyone standing down below! Talk about giggles every time! There is also a wave pool, hot tubs, lazy river, and a water tree fort! We love that they also have life guards and employees constantly in the water and/or walking around to keep everyone safe!
We honestly had a blast. Were Matt and I exhausted? YES! But what trip with kids doesn’t leave you exhausted am I right?? Their smiles, the giggles, and the memories we got to create during this trip were far beyond what I ever expected! We highly recommend Great Wolf Lodge for anyone looking for a fun getaway jam packed with activities and fun things to do! Great Wolf Lodge actually has many locations so you are sure to find one close to you! We drove 5 hours to this location and it was well worth the drive, even for kids who don’t love the car! 🙂 Have you been to a Great Wolf Lodge? If so, what did you think? We will most definitely be going back!
Huge thank you to Great Wolf Lodge for hosting our stay! The thoughts, images and content are that of my own! Thank you for supporting my blog by reading!
