I can’t believe it’s already time for me to be packing bags and getting ready to bring a new little baby home but here we are! I am SO beyond ready yet trying to soak in these last few weeks of being pregnant! Everyone is getting so anxious, the kids ask every night if it’s time for the baby to come out!
Several people have asked me to share must haves for my hospital bag and the baby’s bag so I wanted to share so you guys can have a resource to come back to when it’s your turn!
Finally publishing this, I had almost finished writing this the day before I went into labor!
**Notes my experience post birth with the item**
Frida Delivery gown- This gown was a must have for me! It looks so comfy and if you know the hospital gowns can sometimes feel like tissue paper. Plus it looks so much better in pictures! 😉 **CAN’T RECOMMEND THIS GOWN ENOUGH**
Compression socks- I never brought these with my other kids but I decided to bring them this time to help combat the after delivery swelling! **MUST HAVE**
Target PJS- So I have 3 different styles from this brand of Target pajamas and I can not say enough great things about them. They are literally the SOFTEST things ever, great quality and have functioning buttons so great for skin to skin and breastfeeding! I literally check all the time to see if they are back in stock to grab other colors! **WORE EVERY PAIR IN THE HOSPITAL AND WAS SO COMFY**
Slippers- I always take a comfy pair of slippers with me to the hospital! I love comfy things on my feet, such as those nordic slippers, so these are always a go-to! Everyone raves about these Amazon slippers so I snagged a pair!
Tumbler with straw- This always helps keep water cool for those late night nursing sessions. You need to drink so much water to help with milk production as well as post partum swelling! **THIS TUMBLER IS AMAZING FOR THE PRICE**
Lip Mask- This stiff is literal gold for your lips! It leaves them feeling so hydrated and we all know hospital air is SO dang dry so I will have this stuff on my lips 24/7 there! **GOLD**
Mama Diapers- I brought these the last time I gave birth and they were a game changer! Now don’t get me wrong, I love a good mesh panty but these actually stay in place while sleeping, are way less bulky, and kinda actually look pretty! HA! As cute as you can look in a mama diaper! **CAN’T IMAGINE POST PARTUM WITHOUT THESE THINGS**
Fuzzy Socks- I’m a total sucker for fuzzy socks and I love getting ones with grips on the bottom for the hospital!
10 ft charger cord- This is a must have! There is nothing worse than not being able to charge your phone and have it right beside you when you are in bed with baby!
Tripod- I am bringing my phone tripod for some candid videos and pictures since once our photographer leaves we can still get some photos/videos if we want!
Bluetooth speaker- We got this speaker that clips onto things and I plan to use it during labor to help relax me and chill out listening to some good music!
Belly Band- I have used these with all of my babies and honestly I love them! Everything feels like mush once the baby is born and I feel like this really helps give me some support! ** I USED THIS AFTER EVERY BABY OTHER THAN GRE BECAUSE I DIDN’T EVEN KNOW ABOUT THEM**
Nursing tanks- I am bringing several nursing tanks I purchased from amazon! They are great quality and I think I’m going to love them! ** SUCH GREAT QUALITY & AMAZON PRIME **
Kindred Bravely Bra/leggings/tank- I am bringing my bra, high waisted leggings, tank and one pair of their underwear with me because they are so incredibly comfortable! I can’t tell you how much I love KB!
Portable fan- I’ve seen several mamas take this to delivery & I thought it was a great idea so I’m packing one too! ** USED THIS MY ENTIRE LABOR **
Headbands- These fuzzy headbands keep the hair out of your face & come in handy when washing your face or doing your makeup! Also, for the best hard wax and other skin care products visit this website.
Make up wipes, nipple pads, nursing pads, nipple butter, etc.
All of these things can be overwhelming to shop for, but lucky for us we have the option to shop for all of these baby supplies from the comfort of our own homes on the McDaid Pharmacy Group online site.
Baby Bag
So I packed onesies and blankets from the following shops!
This baby book which by the way is soooo amazing! The quality and hand lettering are so amazing!
Obviously I didn’t get this published before I had baby Waiks but I still wanted to get it up for y’all so you had it to reference! I hope this helps some! I’m so glad I’m an overpacked because we ended up having a looooong hospital stay (more on that in the birth story coming soon) and I didn’t really go home much so I used 99% of the things I packed!
